Secondly, The Law taught him, by inferring a General out of a Particular. If a Man' an Animal.

But my Weakness confines me to few Words, though the laft Text was defendible, without allowing aliquod humani, here there is probability for it, and I the more readily imbrace it, becaufe that Phoenix for Knowledgs of that kind, as all his Adverfaries allow, has pav'd my way by his Authority. Buxtorf. One Reafon is, there appears no Emphasis to Parties on either side.

Secondly, The Jews preferve the Ufe and Value of both, but their Ufe is different; the one for the Number of the Commands (in this the Jews and we agree) the other for the divifion of the Parafcha's, and number of their Verfes. Vide Wafmuth, P. 197. Now the former Ufe required the Punctation from the Beginning; the latter Ufe came in about the beginning of the Grecian Monarchy, or after. Therefore what fubferves muft come after.

Thirdly, I would ftep further on this Suppofition, and Plead, if a fecond Super-added Punctation was before the Maforites, and fo Old and Sacred, by them efteemed, furely the first Punctation, was long before, indeed where no Mystery is intended, a double Punctation at one time is inconceivable.

Fourthly, We have hence no Corruption in our. Bibles, for these are no more than the Letters and &c. and other Maforetic Marks.

Obferve in the double Accentuation, fome Words have onely one, the Reason is, that one ferves either Confecution of Points.

Of Examples at large, both in Synthetick and Analytick Practice, by which the Former Rules may be rendered more Inftructing and Convincing.

האל תמים דרבו אמרת יהוה צרופת .31 .22 .Sam 2 מגן הוא לכל החסים בו

As for God, his way is perfect, the word of the Lord is try'd, He is a buckler to all thofe who put their trust

in Him.

Ccording to my Axioms then, the first Queftion in a Synthetick Method, or a Priori is, Where Should Minifters be placed? or where Lords? Either in Hebrew or English, let Matter Rule; In

Anfwer I find Way, and perfect Adjective and Subftantive Word of the Lord, one Subftantive governing another, &c. He and Shield by an underftood Verb Subftantive trufting him, or crediting him, Fidem es habentibus. I find all thefe agree Syntactically, then these must have Minifters, the other Lords, at which rate here is place for Four Ministers, and Seven Lords, for here are Eleven Words.

My Second Enquiry is, according to the following Axioms, about the Proportion of the Lords, where Abfolute, and where Majors and where Minors are to be placed? Now there are Four moft fenfible degrees of Difference.

As to the first, Silluk keeps his place. Asto the Second, it is a Question whether it fhould be on Tzerupha, or on Darcho, for in both there is change of the Verfes Subject the firft Subject is God, As to God his way is perfect. The Second is his Word; The Word of the Lord is try'd. After which the former Subject returns, He is a buckler. Or there are Three Subject, His Way, his Word, and Himself. Hence this very Verfe, Pfal. 18. 31. is thus Pointed:

האל תמים דרך אמרת

יהוה צרופה מגן הוא לכל החסים בו

Where Merca maphat is on the end of the first Subject, Atnah on the Second, and Silluk on the Third But in Profe Atnah is on the First, and

on the Second; on this Confideration, That He is a fhield, has reference to Jehovah in the foregoing Propofition. Hence, as to the Third, then there is one refpective Propofition with on his end, and what follows him makes up one for Silluk. This Jehovah is a Shield, and by his word He obliges and declares Himself to be fo. As to the Fourth, in the First Two Propofitions, there is an Enlargement, or Explication of the Subject. As to God, his way. The Lord's word, which requires Minors. As to the Third there is a gradual Perfection (after the Fourth word) of the fame Propofition, and therefore there is place not only for a Minor on the Acquifitive Dative to all, but for a Major on N to be repeated.

A Third Enquiry might be about what are to be put in thefe places; and firft from according to the Table the Confecution ftands thus and after thus fince it agrees, this being compleatly Perfected begins again, which proceeds thus fince the immediate agrees not from by the Table it is thus;
