T H EN the author first sent this work to the
V Press, he intended to introduce a greater assortment of Settlements thän he has at present inserted, but the novelty, and it may be added, the abstruse nature of the subject, foon led him to consider that it would be prudent to repress a part of his original design, until he should have learned the opinion of the public through the medium of the ensuing pages.
The very flattering attention with which his former literary pursuits have been honored induces him to hope that the present publication will meet with the same favorable reception; and İhould his hopes be crowned with success, he proposes to turn his thoughts as often as an extensive practice will permit to the prosecution of the present subject agreeably to his original intentions, and at some future period to extend his plan into all the yarious other Precedents used in Conveyancing.
