Sir!
I, Pakistan Army No.11830, Capt Retd Ali Muhammad Bangash, Engineers was Second Lieutenant in 1971.I had passed out in March 1970.I remained Engineer Officer of 31 Baloch from 31 July 1971 to
the end of war.
This attack was launched at night 31 July/01 August 1971.That was my first night in Jamalpur-the HQ of 31 Baloch.Lt Col Aziz was commanding it. Lt Col Raja Sultan Ahmed, SJ Bar took over the command in September.
I had myself seen a Truck-Load of dead-bodies of the attackers.Infact, I had instructed a Naib Subedar , who did not know me fully by then, not to topple the corpses ruthlessly. It was in my blood.We-the Pathans do not insult dead-bodies.
The main poit is that at that time Kamalpur Border Out Post was being commanded by one of my seniors-Lt Muhammad Ali Shah.He had come on secondment from 3rd Baloch. He is alive. He had allowed the attackers to come near the post. That was a very good example of Fire Control. Some of the attackers were carrying their rifles in Sling-Arm Position.
After this attack my engineer platoon was ordered to lay mines in the close vicinity of the post.
During the war I was commanding Bahadurabad Ferry Post.I had seen SU7s diving on Kamalpur on 0th of December.Capt Ehsan Malik Siddique was then commanding it.Thanks
