Wed and Buried: A Laura Fleming Mystery

When her excitable, social-climbing cousin Vasti calls to say there's trouble in Byerly, new-mom Laura Fleming is tempted to say she's off-duty. But it's not Vasti who needs help, it's Aunt Maggie -- or rather, Maggie's new husband, Big Bill Walters. The news that someone is trying to kill the old coot is enough to send Laura and her Yankee husband, Richard, packing.

When Laura arrives at Big Bill's mansion, she discovers that there's certainly no scarcity. of people with grudges against the fiery old man -- from his daughter-in-law, who resents Maggie's new role as lady of the manor, and his son Burt, who hasn't forgiven Bill for nearly selling the family mill, to a disgruntled former employee, and to the nurses who are at Bill's beck-and-call.
