Catalogue of the Mesolithic and Neolithic Collections at the National Museums and Galleries of WalesThis catalogue of prehistoric material in Welsh collections is intended to provide a rich resource for future research into life in Wales between the Ice Age and the end of the Stone Age. The catalogue of lithics, pottery and bone, is presented by region, accompanied by maps but no illustrations of the objects themselves. The first third of the study presents a chronological overview of the type of evidence found in Wales, including settlements, monuments and cave sites as well as environmental and material finds. It is this part of the book that contains many fine illustrations of the objects themselves. The catalogue not only provides evidence on the finds but also a wealth of information on the archaeological sites of prehistoric Wales. Includes a list of sites and a full bibliography. |
