2 We praise thee, we bless thee, we worship thee,

We glorify thee, we give thanks to thee for thy great glory;

O Lord God, heavenly King, God the Father Almighty.

3 O Lord the only begotten Son, Jesus Christ;

O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, that takest away the sins of the world:

Have mercy upon us.

4 Thou that takest away the sins of the world, Have mercy upon us.

5 Thou that takest away the sins of the world, Receive our prayer.

6 Thou that sittest at the right hand of God the Father, Have mercy upon us.

7 For thou only art holy,

Thou only art the Lord.

8 Thou only, O Christ, with the Holy Ghost,

51

Art most high in the glory of God the Father.
Amen.

HOU Maker of my vital frame,

THO

Unvail thy face, pronounce thy name;

Shine to my sight, and let the ear

Which thou hast formed, thy language hear:
Divide, ye clouds, and let me see
The Power that gives me leave to be.

2 Where is thy residence? oh! why
Dost thou avoid my searching eye!
Mysterious Being! Great Unknown,
Say, do the clouds conceal thy throne?
Or art thou all diffused abroad,
Through boundless space, a present God?

52

3 Is there not some delightful art
To feel thy presence at my heart?
To hear thy whispers, soft and kind,
In holy silence of the mind?—

Then rest, my thoughts; no longer roam
In quest of joy—for heaven's at home!

BAPTISMAL.

HUS saith the Lord that made thee, and formed

THUS thee, who will help thee,

Fear not, O Jacob my servant, and Israel whom I have chosen.

2 The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him,

And his righteousness unto children's children,

3 To such as keep his covenant:

And to those that remember his commandments to do them.

4 One shall say, I am the Lord's; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob;

And another shall subscribe with his hand to the

Lord, and surname himself by the name of
Israel.

5 Doubtless thou art our Father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not. Thou, O Lord, art our Father, our Redeemer; from everlasting is thy name.

Before the Administration.

BAPTISMAL.

Go all

O ye and teach all nations, baptizing them

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

2 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have

commanded you;

And lo, I am with you alway, even to the end of the world.

3 Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them

not:

For of such is the kingdom of heaven.

After the Administration.

1 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall

be clean:

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will
I put within you,

2 And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh. And I will give you a heart of flesh.

3 For the promise is unto you, and to your children; And to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Inder to First Lines.

BBA, Father, hear thy child....

AB

Abide with me! Fast falls the eventide...

A broken heart, my God, my King..

A broken heart, O Lord ...
According to thy gracious word.
A charge to keep I have................
Acquaint thyself quickly, O sinner..
A few more years shall roll. . . . .
Affliction is a stormy deep
Again our earthly cares we leave.
Again the day returns of holy rest..
Again the Lord of life and light..
Ah! how shall fallen man...
Ah, this heart is void and chill
Ah! what avails my strife

Ah! wretched, vile, ungrateful heart
Alas! and did my Saviour bleed..
Alas! what hourly dangers rise!.

A light streams downward from the sky

And is there, Lord, a rest.

And must I part with all I have.
And shall I sit alone...

And will the Judge descend.....
Angels rejoiced, and sweetly sung.
Angels! roll the rock away..
Another six days' work is done..
A parting hymn we sing

A pilgrim through this lonely world..
Approach, my soul! the mercy-seat.
Arise, my soul, arise......

Arise, O King of grace, arise..
Arise, ye people, and adore..
Arise, ye saints, arise...

Arm of the Lord, awake, awake..
Ascend thy throne, almighty King..
Asleep in Jesus! blesséd sleep...
As oft with worn and weary feet..
As pants the hart for cooling streams.
Assembled at thy great command..
As the hart, with eager looks
Astonished and distressed

As when in silence, vernal showers.
As when the weary traveler gains .
At anchor laid, remote from home..
At evening time let there be light..
At the Lamb's high feast we sing..
At thy command, our dearest Lord.
Author of good! to thee we turn...
Awake, and sing the song..
Awake, awake the sacred song.
Awaked by Sinai's awful sound.
Awake, my heart, arise, my tongue..
Awake, my soul, and with the sun..
Awake, my soul! lift up thine eyes.
Awake, my soul, stretch every nerve...
Awake, my soul, to joyful lays.
Awake, my tongue, thy tribute bring.
Awake, our souls! away our fears...
Awake, ye saints! and raise your eyes.
Awake, ye saints, awake!...

Away from earth my spirit turns.
