About the author (1997)

Sir Harry Secombe was one of Britain's best-loved entertainers. After his death in April 2001, at the age of seventy-nine, the former Prime Minister John Major paid tribute to him as: 'one of the loveliest of men and a comic genius who gave pleasure to millions.'
