Man, Play and Games

A fascinating book by a fascinating intellectual. He provides an interesting model for the classification of games which seems inherently Nietzschean. Highlights include: his definition of play, his classification of agon/alea/mimesis/ilinx and ludus/paidia, the chapter on the corruption of games, and his combinatorial approach to the relations between the types.
