Dynamics of Railway BridgesThis is a survey of the dynamic stresses in railway bridges under moving vehicles. It summarizes important theoretical and experimental results which have been obtained from various research programmes dealing with European railway bridges. Issues examined include: both bridge and moving railway vehicles; the basic dynamic characteristics of railway bridges; the effect of parameters such as the speed of vehicles, track irregularities on the dynamic behaviour of bridges; and the vertical, horizontal, longitudinal and horizontal transverse effects. |
